Telling the Story

Picture
My painting style is very eclectic…..experimenting and painting with all mediums and techniques.  I am an unstructured artist because I like to begin painting, and let the painting emerge as I go.  The most important part of the painting is the title which, most of the time surfaces before the painting is completed.  The title is telling the story and is the most crucial part of the painting…it’s what grabs your attention and pulls an emotional response from within you.  Sometimes an idea will pop into my head which requires some sketching, but I rarely pre-draw an entire piece.

I endeavor to catch the viewer’s interest by making use of vibrant colors and creating a story within the painting.  Sometimes I paint to music, …the rhythm of the music can influence how fast or slow I paint as well as the length of the stroke.

It is important to me to create art that brings a sense of emotion to the viewer and makes them want to immerse themselves into the piece.   But my greatest joy is that what I have created is being enjoyed and is a part of their world.
